Acting on the siphon
To remove the entire trap just loosen the nuts that hold it in place. Doing so can perform a thorough cleaning and can be accessed more easily to the drain pipe embedded in the wall. If the trap is in poor condition should be replaced by a newer model of conception. They are excellent versions of "saving", which is against the wall and leave free space under the sink.
